I’m not a huge fan of any of these bands individually but I like them each enough that when I saw the combined bill I said, “self, you should go check that out!”…and so I did. I love Cleveland for the fact that the people who live where I do think that Cleveland is like a million miles away and it’s a completely different world. Well, it is a very different world but it’s one that I can be visit in less than an hour. There is no traffic and parking is pretty cheap (usually $5) so it makes shooting More >

This show was at the Akron Civic Theater…what a great venue. The place has a great theatrical vibe to it, the perfect setting for someone as over the top as Rob Zombie. I did get a good laugh out of the ushers who were all well into AARP territory thinking they were going to control the crowd.
Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures opened the show. They are gaining some notoriety because Rob Zombie featured them in his remake of Halloween II. They are a rockabilly, greaser band with a Dawn of the Dead twist. They have an More >

Type O Negative is one of my all time favorite bands. Peter Steele’s amazing vocals combined with their slow grinding down tuned sound just always appealed to me. I remember seeing their video for Black No. 1 sometime in the early 90’s on Head Bangers Ball and I was immediately hooked. I ran out and bought Bloody Kisses. I finally got to see them perform for the first time last year as they came around on their Halloween tour. They are a relatively small time act and as such haven’t been More >

Metallica show #23 is in the can. Yes, I have seen them perform that many times. I guess because they were my idols growing up it has just become habit that if they are playing and there is any reasonable way I can see them…I’m there.
On October 15th the metal royalty that is Metallica played at the Q in Cleveland. It wasn’t the best performance of theirs that I have seen but it was still good. They played a set of 18 songs lasting a bit over 2 hrs. Of the 18 songs a total of 6 More >

So me and the misses were supposed to go to this show at the House of Blues in Cleveland. A few weeks prior to the date of show one of the misses business trips got extended so that she wouldn’t be able to attend. I hit up my buddy Greg and he was down to rock out a long side of me. I’ve been to a couple of the House of Blues venues and they really know how to build a great place to see a show. More >
