Munson’s Home Plate Grill – Meh…nice try.
Feb 16th
Munson’s Home Plate Pub – Meh…nice try. Munson’s Home Plate Pub has been around a few years now. Apparently it is owned by the son of legendary Yankees catcher Thurman Munson. The building that it is in is a little weird. It’s like some sort of business building with a shared entrance so it’s a little strange. I had been into this place a few times back when it was Oscar’s which was sort of an upscale place.
They didn’t change the décor inside. It is an old school, hard wood nice kinda place…it’s really a little weird for a sports More >
Rich that probably isn’t a good idea:#4 Bacon!…kinda
Feb 6th
It’s quickly becoming apparent that my favorite haunting ground for PIGI (Probably Isn’t a Good Idea) is the dollar store. I mean, it’s a buck! Heck, I’ll buy just about any novelty for a buck. Misses Zombie and I were wandering the dollar store when I stumbled upon this little gem (gem as in something precious, not that horrible Debbie Gibson wanna be 80’s cartoon hag…if you have no idea what I’m referencing then GOOGLE IT BIZNATCH. DON’T EMAIL ME ASKING ME TO EXPLAIN MYSELF!). I present to you… BACON GRILL!
The can looks suspiciously like Spam. Now, I like Spam. More >
Rich that probably isn’t a good idea:#3 – Salad in a can
Jan 27th
We have another generous donation from Hot Dog….a nice little boxed lunch of ham salad. Wait, give that a moment to sink in. Yep, ham salad. The term “ham salad” really sounds more like a term that would be synonymous with an act of violation which occurs behind prison walls than it does a tasty treat to come off of the grocery shelf. Canned salad? Seriously?
The image on the box looks tasty enough. I love how they can dress up anything with a little bit of photo magic and make it look tasty. I’m sure they could make “cat turd More >
The Irish – Who knew that the Irish could do wings?
Jan 12th
The Irish is a fairly well known local joint. I was turned onto the place by one of my co-workers who has known the owners since high school. We first went here shortly after moving to Ohio a few years back and it has been a pretty regular stop ever since. It was formerly known as The Irish Exchange. The problem is that there is another place on the other side of town that opened up with the same name….and it sucks. You don’t want people to talk crap about your place only to find out that it isn’t really More >
Rich that probably isn’t a good idea: #1 Prairie Belt
Dec 28th
Welcome to the first installment of “Rich, that probably isn’t a good idea”. It came to me a few weeks ago as I was strolling the isles of the dollar store doing some Christmas shopping (yeah…classy, I know). I spied a can of Prairie Belt smoked sausage.
I decided to pay homage to one of my favorite short lived food blogs “Steve, don’t eat that”. Unfortunately Steve’s interesting and hilarious blog was short lived so I will do my best to carry the torch forward. So here it is in all of its glory…2 cans for $1
